About the Department

The Department was established in 1999 and it consists of well-qualified and experienced staff members. Our prime motive is to make the students master the subjects and make use of it for their future development.

The Objectives of The Department

To provide strong mathematical foundation, analytical and computational skills
To teach them how to perform Mathematical operations and manipulations with confidence, speed and accuracy.
To help the students identify, concentrate, symbolize and use Mathematical relationship in everyday life.
To help the students develop Mathematical reasoning, so that they can make deductions and solve problems through their knowledge and clear understanding.

Activities and Future Plans of the Department

Presently it is being taught as an Allied subject for U.G courses in Computer programmes and Commerce as well as Business Administration.

The Management is planning to introduce courses such as B.sc Mathematics to commence teaching of Mathematics as Major subject. The Department envisions such a growth in future.

Since Mathematics without Sciences has no root and since Sciences without Mathematics yield no fruit, it is applied in all disciplines such as Humanities, Biological sciences, Physical science, Management and Education.

The library is equipped with very useful books related to Mathematics.
SMART BOARD usage for teaching of Mathematics commenced recently.
Quiz programmes and Innovative competitions are frequently conducted by the Department which are related to Mathematics.
All the faculty of the department strive to teach Mathematics in an interesting and in the right manner to help students shed their fear over the subject.
Bridge course is conducted in the beginning of every Academic year for newly admitted students to make them feel comfortable while learning Mathematics.
The Department plans to implement CAL (Computer Aided Learning) to make the teaching methodology much more simple, less complex and innovative.
Frequent tests, Assignments and Class room drills in Mathematics have helped the Department produce very good pass percentage in all the University exams.

In brief, the Department of Mathematics has been rendering commendable service in all respects.
